Paul Philpott

Paul has worked as a Criminal Defence Solicitor at hpjv solicitors since 1996 having previously worked in the public sector as a senior legal adviser in the Magistrates Court Service. Paul is a Director in the company and is the Head of the Criminal department.

As a criminal defence advocate, Paul advises and represents clients across a wide range of legal areas from the most simple and straightforward case of theft or drink driving to the most complex and demanding allegation of robbery or murder. He also specialises in some of the more complex regulatory offences which are prosecuted by non-police agencies such as local authorities and the Environment Agency.

Paul is a Court Duty Solicitor for the Gwent Magistrates Courts and is a Police Station Duty Solicitor for the Newport area which requires Paul to be on 24-hour call out to assist those who do not have their own solicitor but require legal assistance.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys fairly relaxed activities such as reading, listening to music, going to the cinema and attending Greek lessons.
