Ben qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has almost 20 years’ experience as a criminal defence lawyer. Ben joined hpjv solicitors in 2013 and became a Partner in 2017.

Ben is the head of the criminal department.

Ben is a police station and court appointed duty solicitor. Ben has a wealth of experience in representing clients in all categories of criminal law, from minor, although sometimes complex, motoring offences to more serious offences as theft, robbery, burglary, violence and murder. Ben is regularly instructed in South Wales and the South West to represent those charged with motoring offences which could result in them losing their driving licence. Such cases include trials, special reasons and exceptional hardship arguments as well as applications for the early return of a client’s driving licence.

Ben is a Solicitor – Advocate who is qualified to represent clients appearing in the Higher Courts (Criminal Proceedings) such as the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). Indeed, Ben has secured acquittals for clients in the Crown Court for offences of drug trafficking, robbery, serious violence and motoring offences. In notable cases, Ben represented a client in Liverpool Crown Court for a multi-million pound conspiracy to supply drugs. The trial lasted more than 3 months and the client was found not guilty. Ben has also been a led junior in cases involving serious drugs trafficking, manslaughter, attempted murder and murder. Ben has also represented clients in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) and has successfully argued for a reduction in their sentences.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing and watching sports and holds a 3rd degree black belt in Kickboxing.
